So I am hoping that it will be obvious who should post next based on the flow of the narrative. However, I thought it might be useful for people to get an idea on my thought process on that flow.
When the last post was left off adressed to you, it's probably your turn to post. I'll do this fairly deliberately, asking "what do you do?"
You don't have to make an actual move and roll dice whenever you're posting in character. Sometimes you're just talking or describing something you're doing that doesn't count as a move, and that's fine. However, I encourage you to make moves as often as possible. Because of the slow paced format, it makes sense to make your posts really count. When you make moves it gives you a chance to mark experience, as well as driving the action forward and giving me and the other players something to respond to.
Conversations between PCs: you don't need me around for that and I won't butt in except with NPC input really. You can just talk to one another. You can both roll to read one another and both roll to help or interfere with the other's role to read. Even if you flub a roll the backlash is somewhat inherent with the conversation.
Helping or interfering might be a bit tricky in this format. The book says that anyone rolling to help another character should do so before the innitial roll is made. This keeps people from hedging their bets (if Francis rolls a 12 on his act under fire nobody would bother to help him and expose themselves to danger). Obviously it's a little trickier in this format, so unless I can think of a better system, I'll allow for retroactive help (you roll even though you've seen the outcome of their roll). However, I won't wait forever, and once I make my move the opportunity to roll a help or interfere roll is gone.
I was toying with the thought of having some automatic interfere rolls, for example if somebody siezes by force against you, but I think in any instance such as that the action is hinged on that person anyway. You can start your turn with a post stating you're interfering accompanied by dice roll, and then make another post explaining what you do.
Another important thing to note about helping and interfering: it's a move like any other and has consequences. Therefore, you have to be descriptive when you make it, what EXACTLY are you doing to help? Even if it seems obvious, give us a quick description of the action.
That's all for now I think. End rant.
